Terms and Conditions:
While all care will be taken, Sweet As Tours LTD will not be liable for sickness or injury to customer/s, or any damage to or loss of property while travelling on tour, or undertaking a service/activity that Sweet As Tours guides or other Sweet As Tours travelers recommend.
There is no travel insurance cover included in the price of the tour. Sweet As Tours strongly recommends that you have insurance to cover cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident, personal baggage, money and public liability. We do not take responsibility for the loss of your personal possessions however the cause.
Our trips can be adventurous so travelers aged 16 or 17 years old can only travel with a signed consent form from a parent or guardian (contact directly for a form). Travelers aged 7-16 years must travel with a parent or guardian. Any children under the age of 7 years please contact us directly if wishing to travel on a tour.
Sweet As Tours reserves the right to remove any person/s if they believe they are threatening the safety or enjoyment of the other travelers and their guide. Any threats to a guide or customers’ safety, whether by verbal, physical or inappropriate behaviour may result in the termination of your Sweet As Tour. In this instance, if a driver or guide requires a passenger to leave the trip, there will be no refunds and the customer will be responsible for their own travel costs and arrangements from that point forward.
Sweet As Tours personally designs tours suited to your travel experiences. All quotes that have been prepared for the customer will be held for 5 workings days to confirm your tour reservation, a non-refundable deposit of NZD$250 per person per tour is required.
Once your deposit has been received, Sweet As Tours will confirm your booking. Full payment is to be made 60 days prior to departure day or within 1 week of booking if confirmed in less than 60 days. . All relevant travel information and details of the bookings will be sent you via email.
Unless otherwise specified, payment for all bookings shall be made by credit card or bank deposit prior to the Customer receiving confirmation of the booking from Sweet As Tours. Should payment not be received by Sweet As Tours by the due date, or a payment be dishonoured, Sweet As Tours reserves the right to cancel or not confirm the booking.
Prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars which include GST (goods and services tax) and compulsory taxes where applicable. Any Credit Card Payments made to Sweet As Tours will occur a 3% fee at the time of payment. The customer warrants they are the cardholder of the credit card used for payment and that they have sufficient credit on their credit card to meet all charges associated with the Booking.
Itineraries are created by Sweet As Tours and are correct at the time of printing and payment has been accepted. Occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances itineraries can be changed at short notice as we make improvements in our product based on customer research, customer safety or there are changes in the offerings from operators we use. If we are unable to utilize a product, service or activity detailed in our itinerary, a suitable alternative will be offered where possible.
Local Trips
A minimum of 6 people will be required to register and pay before a confirmed trip will be scheduled unless you are prepared to pay for a exclusive tour/trip.
Special Meals
Please notify at the time of booking any special dietary requirements whilst on tour. Please note that this will be on a request basis only as Sweet As Tours cannot guarantee the availability of special meals.
Luggage Allowance
One medium size suitcase per person and one piece of hand luggage which may be carried on-board tour vehicle. Please note that luggage with an adjustable handle and wheels will not fit in the overhead compartments and cannot be accepted as hand luggage. Maximum weight of the suitcase cannot exceed 23kg (50lbs). We are required by strict Government vehicle weight regulations to enforce and adhere to these limits. If your luggage exceeds the limit, we ask that you make alternative arrangements for the excess to be forwarded to the termination point of your tour. We suggest that you have wheels on your suitcase, as there are certain places where assistance is not available (e.g. railway stations and cruise terminals).
Please note that it is recommended that guests use a small day bag to carry on their back with shoulder straps for such things as lunch, water and wet weather gear. Any passenger choosing the overnight boat excursions in the Fiordland National Park will need to have one of the above bags as the third party company restricted a certain baggage allowance.
Smoking:
Government regulations prohibit smoking inside any tourist transport. Please restrict smoking to the ample stops en route throughout the day.
What to Bring:
We recommend casual, lightweight, drip-dry clothing, with some warmer articles for the evenings and cooler days. A warm jacket is recommended for all seasons. Pack shorts, pullover, rubber-soled walking shoes, swimsuit, towel, sleeping clothes and waterproof jacket. Do not forget your hat, camera, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, toiletries and a flask for drinking water. Regular laundry facilities are available en route. Dress code is usually casual, so bring comfortable clothing.
In winter (May to September) can be cold, frosts do occur and occasionally a cold wind blows, so bring warm clothing to suit. Don’t hesitate to ask if you are unsure.
Third Party Suppliers:
IMPORTANT: Skydiving, Scenic Flights, Boat Cruises, Helicopter Flights, Cable Car Rides, 4WD Tours, White Water Rafting, Rail, etc.
These excursions are not operated by Sweet As Tours, nor by persons or companies associated with Sweet As Tours. These activities involve an element of risk which can be subject to injury, death, accident, delay and loss, and clients assume all such risk with regard to any misadventure, death, injury, delay or loss which occurs during, or as a result of, any such activity.
Illness or Disability
Anyone suffering from illness or disability or undergoing treatment for any physical or medical condition must declare the true nature of such condition at the time of booking and make arrangements for the provision of any medication or other treatment required during the tour. Failure to make such disclosure will constitute a breach of these booking conditions and may result in such persons being excluded from the tour in which case all monies paid will be forfeited and the Company will not be liable to pay any compensation whatsoever. If at any time the client chooses a water-based activity they must make it known at the time of booking if he/she is unable to swim. This will not prevent the client from participating in the tour but will enable the company to take additional precautions for the client’s safety at such times as may be appropriate.
DISPUTES
Should you wish to raise any issues about your trip – please in the first instance advise your driver guide of your concern. If your issue is not resolved, please write to us formerly as soon as reasonably possible, and within 28 days to enable us to research your concern. We will not consider claims made after 28 days. Please supply a postal address if you are emailing us so we can provide a written response.

This is how we protect your privacy when you are dealing with us at Sweet As Tours. Our website www.sweetastours.co.nz gives us a chance to collect information about you. Some of this will be used to identify you personally – much of it will be as part of aggregated information. We want to keep you happy and your privacy is important to us – this document outlines where and how we gather information about you and how we use it. You have the right to access and correct any information that we hold about you.
The information we collect is:
- Personally Identifiable Information. This is provided by you when you register in our system and for services that we offer. We will always need at least your email address but all additional information will always be optional for you to provide. To get the most out of our system and services you will usually have to provide some personal information and this is what we do with it:
- Aggregated Data. This information is generated by our systems as they track traffic through our sites. This information does not identify you personally and is not linked to the personally identifiable information that you may have provided.
- We have collected this information in order to provide the best possible service to you while you are visiting our website and to make relevant information suitable to you and your interests.
- To process any payment transactions that you might make on our website. To help provide any other services that you have requested.
- For any marketing, promotional, publicity, direct marketing or market research that we might undertake.
Security
We take all reasonable steps to keep the personal information that you provide us secure and to protect that information from misuse or loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. It must be noted though that total security of data transmission over the internet cannot be guaranteed as being completely secure. Therefore we cannot guarantee and we do not warrant the security of information transmitted to us over the internet and you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk. Because our business is growing, the market is evolving and the type of services that we are able to provide over the internet is constantly changing we reserve the right to change this policy at any time. We will notify site users of any changes to the Privacy Policy.
Cancellations/Amendments
The Customer may cancel a booking subject to the provisions of this clause of these Terms and Conditions of Trade.
Any cancellations must be made in writing to Sweet As Tours and will be effective from the date in which Sweet As Tours receives the request.
For any cancellation of any Sweet As Tour/s or activities these service fees apply:
60-28 days before departure (or open dated activities) 30% of the tour price,
14-28 Days before departure 50% of the tour price,
Less than 14 days before the tour is non-refundable.
Should the Customer wish to amend the Booking once payment has been received by Sweet As Tours, Sweet As Tours does not guarantee the amendment will be made. However, Sweet As Tours shall make every reasonable effort to accommodate the Customer’s amendments.
Any amendments will be subject to all charges imposed by the original or new Tourism Operator and Sweet As Tours reserves the right to charge an administration fee, for accommodating the Customer’s amendments, payable by the Customer immediately. A flat fee of $5 will be given to any person/s for any cancellations made to any activities once full payment is made.
Any requests for amendment must be made in writing by the Customer and will be subject to the terms and conditions contained herein.

IMPORTANT
By paying the $250NZ deposit per person per tour you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions, which make up the contract between you and Sweet As Tours.
